In Kenya, daily struggles can often overshadow hope.
With help from generous donors like you, Jackline Ahawo - once a student seeking deeper Biblical understanding - is now an instructor and fountain of hope at ELIM Theological Institute.
Before encountering ELIM, Jackline lacked effective Biblical training. “My teaching was not up to a standard of effectiveness,” Jackline reflects, highlighting the gap in her previous education.
Everything changed when Pastor Paul Tawo introduced her to ELIM Theological Institute. Intrigued by Dr. Daniel Gilbert’s vision for Biblical training in Kenya, Jackline decided to attend a class. The experience was eye-opening. “After attending a class with him, I realized that the teaching was of higher value than what I had received,” she shares. This realization ignited a passion for learning that would transform not only her life but the lives of many others.
Motivated by the quality of instruction, Jackline immersed herself in ELIM’s teachings. When she shared what she had learned with her church, the results were remarkable. “Everything changed. People experienced real life change,” Jackline recalls with enthusiasm.
Jackline’s transformation through ELIM comes against the backdrop of Kenya’s challenging socio-economic landscape. She paints a stark picture of the difficulties faced by many: “Life in Kenya is so difficult. Families struggle without their ‘daily bread.’ They often live angry and bitter, even resorting to theft. And when they are caught it can result in death.”
Armed with the solid Biblical foundation provided by ELIM, Jackline now approaches these challenges with renewed purpose and hope. “It is the work of the church to bring hope here,” she asserts. “We know that God is our provider. And with the word we learn from ELIM, we can provide for the needy.”
Jackline’s journey from student to instructor at ELIM Theological Institute is more than a personal success story. It represents the transformative power of quality theological education in addressing both spiritual and societal challenges. Through her teaching and ministry, Jackline is now passing on the life-changing truths she has learned, impacting many lives in her community.
As ELIM continues its mission of equipping leaders like Jackline, stories like hers are powerful reminders of the ripple effect of sound Biblical teaching. They highlight the crucial role of empowering local leaders to address the spiritual and practical needs of their communities, fostering hope and positive change in challenging environments.
Because of you, Jackline is a fountain of hope. THANK YOU!
